Pick ‘n Save Warehouse Foods, the first of its kind in Milwaukee, it opened on March 25, 1975. The warehouse grocery store is an idea that has been tried and failed in other parts of the country before taking root in Milwaukee. Soon, customers came by the thousands, demanding the local police department to be in constant duty only to direct traffic. It was clear by the end of the first week that Pick ‘n Save was here to stay. A month later, a second Pick ‘n Save store opened.

Today, 93 Pick ‘n Save stores serving communities throughout Wisconsin. Concept Warehouse Foods is just a distant memory when shopping our stores filled with beautiful current fresh produce, prepared foods with restaurant-quality, full-service counters, meal ideas, food and beverage pairings and more. But great prices and value of the early days continue to satisfy customers. In 2009, Pick ‘n Save’s parent company Roundy’s Supermarkets, Inc. It was named Outstanding Regional retail grocer from Progressive. Contributing to the victory was the company’s approach a client-in-time service and a commitment to giving back to the communities where our customers live and work and employees.
